Kay Adlington gave us a fascinating talk on how Rebecca Adlington became an Olympic Gold medalist. Fascinating. Such determination and commitment, and what a lovely supportive family.

What a busy two days. Last night was a New Members Evening where three WI Advisers plus our group Secretary attempted to give the low down on the WI to local new members. Success or overload, I'm not sure, but I learnt a thing or two.
Today six of us from the Lunch Club went to the Fox and Hounds at Blidworth Bottoms. First though we went for an hour's walk in the woods. That worked up an appetite and a thirst. The pub serves some gourmet food, but most of us ordered from the lunch menu hidden at the back of the large main menu. Ready for a kip after that.
Saw plenty of people that I know at the Spring Council meeting at the Royal Centre. Helen received her certificate congratulating her on becoming a WI Adviser. Watnall missed out on gaining the Sheila Norris Rose Bowl, by ONE point!
Quietly spokeJane Jefferson is now the County Chair.
